The follow up to Metroid Prime, Echoes takes Samus to the remote planet Aether where she must take control of the battle between the luminoth and the ing. The luminoth creatures have been protecting the light side of the planet dimension, whereas the ing are battling for the dark side. Samus must help the luminoth destroy the ing and restore the planet back to its true state.
